Just recently the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation) announced rule changes and additions to this year’s rules (details on these changes can be found here). In addition to these rule changes the IBJJF has just announced that there will be requirements in place in order to qualify for all Adult Black Belts Divisions at next year’s 2015 World Jiu-Jitsu Championships. The IBJJF are taking these measures to ensure that the largest BJJ tournament in the world will continue to be prestigious with only the most accomplished athletes completing at its highest level.

Qualifications for these divisions can be met by achieving any one of the following:

– By being a Black Belt with a minimum of 50 combined points in the IBJJF black belt adult ranking (for more information on how ranking points are accrued please visit here).

– By being an Adult World Champion from a previous year.

– By having securing a 2014 World Champion spot the previous year at Brown Belt (all weight divisions).

The IBJJF will be releasing more details on the restrictions and qualifications soon.
