The upcoming Gracie Sydney Jiu-Jitsu grading for KIDS will be held on the 20th of March 2021. The grading for ADULTS will be held on the 27th of March 2021.
What you need to know:
The grading list is decided upon the coach’s discretion. Students will be evaluated by multiple coaches during the course of their training. Many elements are considered when deciding whether or not to place a student on the grading list for their next belt.
- Attendance amount at the Academy.
- Conductibility on and off the mats.
- Technical ability and knowledge of techniques.
- Skill level when sparring variety of opponents.
- Time spent training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
The grading is a fantastic pathway to encourage students to keep working towards their goals. Or if they are successful in making it onto the grading list, the will to keep training hard on a new belt is motivating.
For those who do not make it onto the list: Keep training, your time will come. The coaches discuss every student that is a potential candidate for the list.
For adults that have made it onto the grading list:
Please make sure you visit the website HERE; as to be sure that you are aware of everything you need to know. There will be a formal grading exam for all students on the list. It is important you pick a partner you are comfortable with and practice your escapes and techniques with them.
For kids that have made it onto the grading list:
Please visit the Grading Syllabus board next to the bubbler in the academy or HERE. The board will have instructions for every belt and everything that your child needs to know for their grading.
Good luck and see you on the mats!
